These photos are spectacular. They help remind us of our place in the greater cosmos. From back-garden enthusiasts to professional photographers – the Royal Observatory in Greenwich received hundreds of entries for its 2010 Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition. The winning images include solar eclipses, close-up views of the moon, and vast distant galaxies in deep space.
