Ralph’s new online course starts November 6!

Understanding and Navigating Your Soul’s Journey from Before Birth to After Death

In this course you will learn to identify the six great stations and phases of your soul’s journey through human life: incarnation and conception; birth and infancy; the springtime of youth; the mid-life turning; old age, elderhood and dying; the hereafter and rebirth.

In six one and a half hour video talks and Q & A discussions, illustrated by diagrams from Ralph’s major work Ecology of Consciousness, you will be exploring new approaches to realms of consciousness that are traditionally considered the deepest spiritual mysteries of our lives.

Comparing and integrating insights from entheogenic experiences, shamanic journeys, breathwork, hypnotherapy, as well as meditative experiences and dreams, we find remarkable convergences of modern findings with esoteric teachings, both Eastern and Western. Through this course, you will gain a deeper understanding of the totality of your life cycle, from before conception and birth to the after-death realms and reincarnation.

Overtones and Undercurrents: Spirituality, Reincarnation, and Ancestor Influence in Entheogenic Psychotherapy

Overtones are the subtle sounds created in stringed instruments by the sympathetic vibrations of the struck or plucked fundamental strings. One can think of the spiritual dimensions of our experience, that we refer to as “spirit” or “soul”, as analogous to these ethereal harmonics. They are the inner tones and subtle harmonics of spirit and soul that can accompany our experience.

Undercurrents are the flow of tides of water or energy invisibly, below the surface, that can induce powerful movements of surface objects in unexpected directions, towards damaging rocks or abysmal depths. Similarly, karmic entanglements of past incarnations can affect our present experience with seemingly unfounded feelings of guilt, indebtedness, resentment or shame.

The 15 true stories related here, show how the psychological problems we confront may derive from factors often not considered in conventional psychotherapy, including residual effects from prior abortions, unconscious imprints from prenatal existence, memories from past lives, ancestral and familial soul connections, and even psychic intrusions and possession states. The case histories and methods described include the use of quiet retreat space, guided regressions to pre-natal and past-life conditions, yogic light-fire practices and selective use of small doses of entheogens. The concluding chapter describes the use of three different kinds of healing serpent imagery from the Chinese Taoist traditions as well as the ancient Greek Asclepius and Hermetic teachings.

New Book Available March 1 – Ecology of Consciousness – The Alchemy of Personal, Collective and Planetary Transformation

ecology-of-consciousness-smNew Book Available on March 1, 2017:
Ecology of Consciousness – The Alchemy of Personal, Collective and Planetary Transformation

In this book, I offer a distillation of fifty years of exploration and discovery of the many realms of consciousness – from the recesses of the human unconscious, through the shared realities of family and culture, to the cosmic visions in expanded states of consciousness.

In my fifty years of learning, guiding and teaching in the contexts of psychotherapy and exploration of non-ordinary states of consciousness, I have been privileged to learn from hundreds of students, clients and fellow explorers. In the work described in this book, we’ve drawn on the methods and principles of the shamanism, alchemy and yoga, as well as the groundbreaking discoveries of depth psychology, modern neuroscience and the sciences of the macrocosmos and microcosmos.

The objective descriptions of realms described by our material sciences can again by integrated with the internal observations from shared visions and dreams. From pre-birth to after death realms we can learn from and participate in the discoveries of the mystics and visionary explorers. We can learn how to use our innate spiritual intelligence and navigate our states of consciousness for healing and guidance.

This book will be used in my new online course starting on February 22:
Understanding and Navigating Your States of Consciousness

The realms of plants and fungi provide us with life-sustaining nourishment, medicines for healing sickness, relief of pain, and delight for our senses with their color and fragrance. Mysteriously, they function as door-openers to the spirit world. They help us cleanse the lenses of perception and to know our place in the great web of life. Nature awareness deepens our experience of being alive, and the need to care of the world in which we live. How has our culture’s discovery of psychedelic experience enhanced our sense of being nature and the responsibility that gift entails? What can we learn from the amazing plant teachers, the vines of visions, the mushrooms of magic? Where do we go from here?

Kathleen Harrison is an ethnobotanist, who is dedicated to studying and teaching the ways that people relate to plants, fungi, and the wisdom they can offer. She is the president and co-founder of Botanical Dimensions, a non-profit organization that has worked for 30 years to collect knowledge of medicinal and shamanic species. She teaches at BD’s Ethnobotany Library in Occidental, which she curates.

Heart Medicine: A True Love Story – One Couple’s Quest for the Sacred Iboga Medicine & the Cure for Addiction

heartmedicine

By Elizabeth Bast.

Drug addiction is notoriously difficult to cure or even treat. Relapse rates are discouragingly high, as are mortality rates. Since all the addictive drugs are also illegal and possession can result in incarceration – the cards are stacked against addiction therapy. Into this toxic psychosocial mix comes the legendary central African plant root Tabernanthe iboga or its semi-synthetic derivative ibogaine, a powerful entheogen used in healing and initiation ceremonies in the Bwiti  cult. Uniquely among other psychedelic plants or substances, ibogaine has the capacity to actually block addictive cravings for long enough to permit an addict to re-establish a healthy connection with the core of their being – given appropriate guidance and support.  In the past twenty years or so, a number of healing centers offering ibogaine therapy for addiction have been established in  countries outside the US. What a karmic paradox: a potential cure for the addictions plaguing the urban West comes out of former slave colony states in central Africa!

Elizabeth Bast is a yoga teacher, temple dancer ritual performance artist and hierodule. Her partner Chor Boogie is a spray-paint artist whose brilliantly colored murals adorn public spaces in several continents. During their relationship he relapsed into a drug addiction he had left ten years before, coming close to death.  The couple went on a healing quest and found themselves in an iboga addiction treatment center in Costa Rica with a 10th generation Bwiti shaman from Gabon.  Both went through intense cleansing and truth-telling rituals, releasing deep pockets of shame, guilt and self-deception. This book tells their unique and inspiring story – a healing story for our troubled time – a story of courage, vision, truth and deep love. Available on Amazon.
